At Evoke, we are passionate about creating unique and meaningful tattoos for our clients, and we are always looking for new ways to improve our skills and evolve with the everchanging industry.
That’s why we decided to participate in Kula Worldwide, which was held in Mumbai from 18 -21 Jan 2024. It was our first time as Evoke to attend Kula, and we were both nervous and excited. We wanted to showcase our work, compete with some of the best tattoo artists in the world, and network with other professionals in the industry.

We met some of our seniors whom we have followed very closely, such as Dana Shasho, Rishabh Narang, and some of the best poke tattoo artists representing Borneo - Sylvester Juli and Willey Joe. We were amazed at how rooted Mangla Bai, the custodian of Indian Godna Art was in her entirety. They were all very warm and watching their work was a treat to our eyes. We hit the friendship jackpot, meeting incredible folks from coast to coast and swapping all sorts of pro tips and hacks!
We also entered some of our tattoos in the competition, where we faced some tough judges and fierce competitors. We were proud of our work, but we also knew that we had a lot to learn. We were happy to receive some constructive feedback and compliments from our fellow competitors and the audience who praised our creativity, originality, and technique. We didn’t win any awards, but we felt like we had achieved something by being there and giving our best. We left a mark. We won hearts!

The highlight of the convention was the feeling of belonging that we left with. A gathering where we joined hundreds of other tattoo artists and enthusiasts, Kula felt like a hot shot of espresso on a chilly morning. We felt a sense of camaraderie, as we celebrated our shared passion and artistry. We realized that we were not just a tattoo studio from India, but part of a global community that transcended borders, languages, and cultures. We found our tribe, and we couldn’t be happier.

We come back home with a lot of memories, inspiration, and gratitude. We want to thank everyone who supported us, visited our booth, got a tattoo from us, or simply said hello. We also want to thank the organizers, sponsors, and volunteers of Kula worldwide, who made this event possible and unforgettable.
We hope to see you all again next year, and until then

We packed our bags, booked our schedule, and charted our plan with a lot of enthusiasm. We arrived at the convention center, where we were greeted by a huge crowd of tattoo lovers, artists, performers and media. The atmosphere was electric, and we felt like we were part of something special, something huge.
We set up our booth, where we displayed some of our portfolio pieces and offered live tattoo sessions to interested visitors. We were amazed by the diversity and quality of the tattoos we saw around us. There were artists from all over the world, representing different styles, cultures, and backgrounds. We saw traditional, realistic, geometric, watercolor, dot work, and many other types of tattoos. We also saw some amazing body modifications, such as piercings, scarifications, and performances that challenged our definition of art.
